New Athens International Airport
Project Period:
1998 to 2000, final inspection March 2001
Task and Scope of Delivery:
Novoferm was project coordinator and delivered in total 6,000 door units with hardware incl. installation.
The scope of delivery included fire-resistant doors, smoke proof doors, prison doors, high-pressure doors, securi-
ty doors, tube frame doors made of steel and timber (own manufacturing as well as purchased parts). With a pro-
fessional project management all deadlines and inspection dates have been met.

Project Parties:
• “HOCHTIEF”: System Management Responsible for Planning, construction, financing and airport operation
• ÖPERATOR”: 55% Greek Republic, 45% Consortium (thereof 40% HOCHTIEF)
• 5,000 employees during the construction phase on site, 150 subcontractors
Project Challenges:
• Delivery time as from ordering partially under 2 weeks ( despite the Balkan war at that time )
• Delivery of 2 - 3 truckloads per week
• Employees on site: 6 in construction management and 30 mechanics
